The City assembly of the City of Frydek-Mistek is the supreme authority and it makes decisions in the fields of independent competence of the city. The City assembly has 40 members who were elected in direct elections by the citizens of the city. Electoral term is four years. The members of the assembly sit at least once in three moths. The sessions are public.
The competences of the assembly are listed in § 84 and 85 of the Municipalities act (128/2000). The assembly decides e.g. about city development plans, master plan, regulatory plan, city budget, final account and property transactions.
